This library performs several crucial functions for this segment of IH's organization. It has replaced our legacy servicing grids used for quoting benefits to members, providers and employer groups. All grids can now be generated with the click of a button and posted to a shared directory available to users who require this information to perform their jobs.Mass updates of data can take place orders of magnitude faster than in our previous servicing model. Reports that were previously only capable of being run by IT are now generated easily enough out of the library. Filtering, auditing and data modeling have been built into a front-end UI, making it simpler to find relevant information much more quickly than was possible in the past. The library can also be used to generate ID cards by mining the same data that is used to produce benefit grids. While this has not replaced our current process, it has been met with enthusiasm by the team responsible for ID cards and has potential for further development in the future. Most significantly, I have been able to produce files that can, in two or three steps, generate nearly 100% of a client's benefits for a single plan. This process takes simple data entry and converts it into usable code that can be exported and saved into a text file that in turn can be imported directly into the host claims payment system for near automation of benefits building. The entire process takes only two to three minutes per plan. This is possible because I have been able to map the host system's file structure and match an output to it accordingly.More remains to be done to realize its full potential, but it has already paid dividends to the organization and will continue to do so for years to come.
