Department Manager
CurrentFreight Flow Manager - Responsible for all Receiving and stocking functions of the store while managing assigned employees. Make efficient use of equipment and personnel while managing stocking team and taking merchandise to proper locations while still providing excellent customer service. Responsible for overall supervision, training and mentoring of all assigned personnel. Ensure efficient freight flow of product from receiving to appropriate departments, ensure product is stocked and fronted according to plan-o-grams and in a timely manner, keeping aisles clear and neat. Prepare for and perform physical inventory. Ensure inventory integrity, including inspecting incoming freight, ensuring damaged and store use items are billed out and or adjusted properly, and ensuring receiving and shipping paperwork is properly filled out per company policy and procedures. Assignment and completion of all Freight Flow functions including receiving reports, LPD bills, ICBs are filled out correctly and maintained according to company procedures. Maintain security awareness in receiving at all times and ensure accuracy of outgoing shipments. Department Sales Manager - Responsible for superior customer service, merchandising and sales performance in assigned areas to include inside and outside lawn and garden while managing employees. Greet and acknowledge customers in a friendly, professional manner and provide quick, responsive customer service. Ensure staff is knowledgeable of stock, special order merchandise, warranty information and all aspects of department. Responsible for assisting in ordering, merchandising, selling and maintenance of live nursery products. Oversee Live Nursery personnel and/or Lawn & Garden personnel to ensure accurate complete counts are performed per operations and receiving policies.
