SIFO is a non-bias governmental institute that conducts consumer research and testing. The scientific staff is comprised of researchers and other highly qualified personnel from social and natural sciences.I was working for a research group with the focus on technology and the environment. Parts of the research did not entirely fit an environmental profile but must be seen in a broader consumer culture perspective. My main task were related to projects concerning heat pumps, economic growth and nanotechnology.Besides of being able to publish a report about the usage and expectations of heat pumps in Norwegian households, did I write my final thesis as a joint cooperation between SIFO and the University of Applied Sciences (HAW) in Hamburg.The thesis with the title "A German-Norwegian comparative case study about similarities, discrepancies and other attributes focusing on wind power potentials and transnational electricity exchange"is available online.
