Perhaps it is not only the information taught in school that has a huge impact on the way we live, but also the broad application of the various topics. The technology and the application of it has always been of interest to me. First of all, I am fascinated by dynamics. From the technology of a jet engine to robotics, is something I like to think about or I am eager to learn. When I was younger, I already disassembled my radio-controlled toy car and I liked to make moving projects with Lego.Secondly, designing is something I enjoy. Coming up with new ideas to solve a certain problem is something I like to do. I actually think about a lot of problems during the day and how to solve them with technology. For example, at home we had a problem with a refrigerator that would stay open a little bit and waste energy. So I developed a system that beeps when the fridge is (slightly) open. This is already a good example of the third area of technology that I like, which is mechatronics. I did an additional year of Electrical Engineering, which definitely helped me gain new knowledge about how to approach mechatronic problems. During my previous side job at Prodrive, I also worked partly with electronics.
