Born and raised in Norfolk, I was educated at Downham Market High School. Being from a rural/agricultural background my natural progression was to move to a large farming organisation to gain experience. I left the organisation realising big isn't always the best, hence I joined an independent farmer where I gained a lot of one to one experience and life skills. After eighteen months my employer retired and I made the decision to go self employed, During this time, I also did Lawn Care works in the evenings and weekends, an opportunity came along for me to continue maintaining a site which I had for a number of years but this was being incorporated within a larger tender under CCT which to my astonishment I was successful and then the hard work and education of becoming a businessman started. After a number of years I met my wife, Julie we had a young family (Marcus and Samuel), even greater responsibilities were placed upon me , together we formed Country Grounds Maintenance and strived to promote ourselves taking every opportunity that arose, we were versatile, practical, reliable and delivered on time which we prided ourselves upon, as they say the rest is history and Country Grounds Maintenance then became The CGM Group.
