My ministry objective, first and foremost, is for God alone to be glorified as His Son is magnified. Because of this objective, I desire to preach the gospel, apply God’s Word to my life and ministry, and to love His people. Jesus Christ is the One who has saved me and called me; therefore I live for Him out of gratitude for His finished work. I must do whatever possible and permissible, within His will, to reach others with the gospel, and to cultivate growth among believers toward maturity in Jesus Christ. I seek to encourage, edify, and equip the saints of God for the work of the ministry. Everyone has a ministry and ours is to mutually strive together to glorify God in knowing Him and making Him known. I can be described as one who is personable, self-motivated, visionary, and a biblically focused, goal-oriented preacher. I have experience and educational training in Pastoral Ministry; to include organizational leadership and development, counseling, and event coordination skills. I strive to be pleasant and approachable, a teachable servant with a love for people. I am an effective team player who is devoted to labor with the body of Christ in glorifying Him in our community.

Senior PastorFirst Baptist Church, Crandall, Texas Apr 2001 - Feb 2008As the Senior Pastor at First Baptist Church I had the privilege to serve this wonderful group of people. I enjoyed the ministry of proclaiming the Word of God and seeing lives transformed as Jesus Christ was lifted as central for the congregation. As a visionary I was responsible for discerning and articulating the vision and mission of the church. I enthusiastically oversaw the congregational worship, community outreach, children’s ministries, youth ministries, and served as the spiritual leader and supervisor of the staff. Our staff consisted of one part-time associate pastor and one volunteer secretary. I was mutually accountable to the deacons and church body as we grew together in Christ. It has been my desire to lead by example, not “lording it over” the church and to inspire others to enthusiastically pursue the Lord’s will for our church family. We grew from an average of 21 to an average of 96 with a high attendance of 139 during my service there.

I initially served as interim pastor, following two previous church-plant pastors, when the church was still in “mission” status. I became the pastor (bi-vocational) and shortly thereafter we organized into a local church. An inner-city ministry and a very small group of people when I began serving there, we saw many salvations and personal spiritual growth among the people. We grew from 10 in membership to an average worship of 50. After we left Rose-Rich Baptist Church, the congregation continued for another year under the leadership of an interim pastor.
