• HMRC – Defended and prosecuted Customs and Excise cases involving drug importation, VAT fraud, and duty evasion, alone, and as a junior to Senior Juniors, e.g. duty evasion on tobacco products totalling £5,000,000, instructed alone. • SFO - Defended in a number of cases prosecuted by the SFO, most notably in the £3,000,000 “Cheney” pension fraud, involving considerable work with Occupational Pensions Regulatory Authority, employment tribunals, and trustees in bankruptcy. • DTI/DBERR - Prosecuted for and defended cases against the DTI, involving false accounting and breaches of the Companies Acts and Insolvency Acts. • CPS - Prosecuted and defended cases of rape, murder, attempted murder, GBH, ABH, conspiracy to rob (armed robberies), Public Order Offences and large scale drugs offences, as well as white collar offences of mortgage fraud, benefit fraud and false accounting.• DWP – I have predominantly prosecuted in DWP cases involving benefit fraud at all levels and complexity, in the Crown Court.• Confiscation/Proceeds of Crime - Instructed in a number of interim applications (freezing of bank accounts), injunctions and full applications in the High Court and in the Crown Court; also numerous confiscation hearings pursuant to the DTA, CJA and POCA.
