I have many responsibilities as an Electrical Engineer at IEC Infrared Systems. To get a clear sense of such responsibilities I will list them below with brief description.Printed Circuit Board Design:I have gained experience bringing a PCB concept from the drawing board to production. I perform all the steps of design of which include:- Discussion of board concept with senior management and engineering- Formation of block diagram- Schematic design- Component selection and BOM creation- PCB layout, including component footprint review or creation- Design review and gerber file generation- Quote for PCB manufacture and assembly- Creation of testing procedure and fixture to ensure proper board functionElectronic CAD Drafting: I create schematic and physical representation drawings of wire harness for out in-house and third-party production. Using electronic CAD software I also create electrical assembly and configuration drawing for system level components.Troubleshooting:Using electronic diagnostic equipment,(oscilloscop, DMM, current probe) and schematic analysis to fix our own systems and third-party systems and printed circuit boards.Documentation: Write reports and manuals for systems. Keep track of design revisions in a clear manner. Inter-disciplinary Communciation;IEC is a systems engineering company so all departments keep in close communication. Working mechanical and software engineers, purchasing and production is a daily part of my work at IEC Infrared. I strive to keep the line of communication open between my colleges and myself.

Worked with a group to design a forearm mounted computer display to be used on a NASA EVA suit. I program a PIC micro-controller to move a mouse cursor on the screen with push buttons instead of a mouse.Set up a test rig to charge and a discharge lithium-ion batteries while monitoring their temperature at different charge and discharge rates using LabVIEW and data acquisition equipment. I had to design and layout a charging circuit on a PCB for this task.
