About Tim Hengel

Tim is a founding partner at Makespace, a specialized real estate group focused on developing and managing innovation hubs and campuses where science, technology and creative talent communities grow.Tim has spent the majority of his career in retail brand development. As Vice-President of Development for Booster Juice, Tim led the company’s expansion from 99 to 350 locations, in 9 countries including the U.S., Mexico, India, UAE and the Gulf States. In his role, he worked closely with hundreds of franchise operators and real estate partners, structuring a multitude of store types, franchising and licensing agreements, both domestically and internationally. Prior to his 14 year career at Booster Juice, Tim was a multi-unit franchisee of Second Cup Coffee, sitting on the company’s Franchise Advisory Board, and was a consultant for Chatters Canada. As COO of Makespace, Tim brings a deep knowledge in single and multi-unit franchising, brand development, regional and international licensing agreements, real estate leasing, worldwide trademarks, regulatory environments, and scaling operational systems.
