I spent much of my school years learning how to program, rather than doing my actual homework, much to the consternation of my teachers. With my trusty TI-83+, I learned the basics of coding, and the immense satisfaction of creating a working, problem-solving, time-saving program. I eventually legitimized my illicit behavior by taking the only class available at my high school at the time, a course in Pascal. I remained hooked on the prospects of career in programming.However, as I closed out my time in school and sought colleges, my counselors advised me that I would not be good at programming, and should pursue a different major. Crestfallen, I acquiesced and acquired a degree in music, but never gave up on my dream.The economic downturn that followed my graduation meant finding work where I could, but along the way I exercised my atrophied programming skills. The growing availability of knowledge on the internet meant I could continue to hone my skills, and continue to practice my passion. This lead directly to independently developing software to make my job more efficient for me and my co-workers. And here, that spark returned: for a moment, I was sitting in ninth grade geometry, staring at the wonders of my TI-83+ all over again.I love the challenge and reward of coding, of problem solving, and figuring out how to make something even just a little bit better. Never resting on my laurels, but always trying to anticipate and solve what's next.I look forward to sharing my skills and passion with others, to better their lives and prospects as they have for me.
