Tim Hindes started his career in trucking as an Owner Operator in the early Eighties. With no college education, fair grades in high school and undiagnosed ADHD he was not the most likely in his class to succeed. Then someone gave him a chance to grow and learn dispatching which he openly admits he was initially horrible at. Then came an opportunity to sell freight in rural Indiana which built him a reputation and a desirable book of business, this opened up the door to start a terminal for Jim Crane which led to a 10 year career in product management and turn around. Which led to an opportunity to execute a business model for the early XPO team, his success here allowed him to cofound his own company which became successful. Hindes sold his company and now reflects on how he was able to overcome the obstacles to reach what many would define as success. It was while reflecting with gratitude that Hindes allowed himself to see that most of the chances given to him would not have been if he were not a white male. Hindes commits the rest of his professional career to breaking down barriers for minority drivers that deserve the same chances he got.
