If you are willing to work hard, you can accomplish most of the things that you set out to do. I love to see people accomplish things that they never thought that they could do through their own effort. We build everything around our off-season program. We use proven strength training techniques, combined with state of the art explosive training techniques, and a great speed development program to focus on developing the total athlete. Our focus is on developing the best athlete possible. We start with 5th and 6th graders in our program. Normally, we utilize the athletic period year round to develop athletes starting at the 5th and 6th grade level. We start with proper weight room safety. We teach kids how to lift properly and safely, using PVC pipe and Broomsticks. With young kids, we utilize high repetitions, low weight, and great technique with our young kids. We teach young kids how to run properly. After we develop a foundation, we start to cycle the kids and focus on variable workouts and explosive training techniques which have had proven results over time. Using this philosophy, we have gone in to five programs which were struggling, and have taken them to the playoffs, while placing a lot of emphasis on academics and discipline. We have also greatly reduced injuries and we have developed some of the strongest kids in U.S. history in the process. Since 1983, we have seen our programs win district championships in every sport, and we have had teams win state championships in baseball, softball, cross-country, track, and football, and we have also had teams compete in the state finals in basketball and volleyball. In football, we have been fortunate to coach 24 teams to the state playoffs, including 13 of the past 14 years. Along the way, we have seen numerous kids advance to the collegiate level, including multiple starting college quarterbacks. It has all been a learning experience. Now we would like to utilize that background to help other programs.

Athletic ConsultantHolt Athletic Consulting Llc Feb 2013 - Aug 2019Holt Athletic Consulting LLC was formed to allow me the opportunity to assist schools in turning their athletic programs around. Since we had been a part of turning several struggling programs around it made sense. It also gave me the chance and the time necessary to correct a health issue, which is now resolved.

Athletic Director/Head Football CoachGeorge West I.S.D. May 2007 - Apr 2013George West, TexasAfter visiting with our kids, Gwen and I decided to return to George West in 2007. Gwen was the Math Department Chair. We had had a great experience there, winning the last five District Championships in a row, losing only one district game in the last five years and advancing to the playoffs for six years in a row.

Athletic Director/Head Football CoachBig Spring I.S.D. Jun 2005 - May 2007Big Spring, TexasI worked as A.D. and Head Football Coach in Big Spring. Both years that we were there we advanced to the playoffs, for the first time in 3 years and won one Bi-District Championship. I was fortunate to coach Ryan Tannehill (A&M and current Miami Dophins QB) at that time.

Athletic Director/Head Football CoachTaylor I.S.D. Mar 2001 - Jun 2005Taylor, TexasI served as the Athletic Director and Head Football Coach in Taylor I.S.D. We had an overall record of 27-16 and went to the playoffs three times in four years, in spite of being the lowest enrollment of any school in the state in our classification. Taylor had not been in the playoffs the two years previously. Following re-alignment we wound up in Class 4A in the district with all the Killeen schools and won six of those eight games with 27 kids on the sideline. We were also fortunate to develop two of the strongest kids in U.S. history, both featured in Bigger, Faster, Stronger Magazine. Both kids, one senior and one junior both benched 485 pounds at the State Powerlifting Meet. Chris Lamar was the strongest junior in U.S. History squatting 820. Daniel Thomas also won the Swartz formula outstanding lifter award, squatting 620 at 182 pounds. We also developed the Daddy Coach program, a first in Taylor.

Athletic Director/Head Football CoachGregory Portland I.S.D. Mar 1998 - Mar 2001Portland, TexasI served as A.D. and Head Football Coach at Gregory Portland High School in Texas. We had the opportunity to go in and turn around a great program that had been floundering. Our third season we went 9-2 and only lost those two games from the 7th grade up. One of the key victories that year was over rival Corpus Christi Calallen, a team that had beaten Gregory Portland 62-0 only two years earlier. We installed a weight program from the 7th grade up and all coaches worked with all levels starting in the 7th grade. We were very proud of what we accomplished there in three years.

Athletic Director/Head Football CoachGeorge West I.S.D. Mar 1993 - Mar 1998George West, TexasI served as Athletic Director and Head Football Coach in George West twice. The first time was from 1993 to 1998. When we arrived here in 1993, George West had not won a District Title in 12 years. Over that five year period George West lost their first district game and their last, spanning nearly five years without a district loss and advancing to the playoffs all five times. I was fortunate to be named South Texas Coach of the Year two time. During that time I coached a great QB named Keith Boyea and a Safety named Jason Blevins, who both went on to star at the Air Force Academy.
