About Tim Howarth

Since graduating I have evolved a steady process for managing my workload and to meet NHS and Company policies. I have helped to develop company I.T systems, set out local protocols. I am keen to promote the profile of Prosthetics and Orthotics and in the time I have been in practice I have attended two Allied Healthcare Professional conferences in the West Midlands and attended the professional reference group meeting for national military veterans amputee rehabilitation & prosthetics service. This was in March 2012 and was following up on the findings of the Murrison report from 2011.I presented at the 2010 BAPO conference in the new graduates section on casting congenital patients and also the 2011 BACPAR conference on prosthetic components and terminology. In November 2011 I took the Practice Based Learning Educator's Programme at Salford university, which led to Wolverhampton having P&O students on clinical placement for the first time, with myself in the role as student training officer. Since then I continued with this to this day. I assisted Limb Power in 2019 on their successful amputees trek to the top of Kilimanjaro as a support prosthetist/walker.
