Tim Hulse is an evaluator and researcher whose work is focused on understanding and improving the implementation and outcomes of counter extremism and peacebuilding projects. He has evaluated interventions in a range of programming areas, including advocacy, governance, capacity building, education, networks, and civil society funding. He is experienced in applying and communicating findings from a variety of quantitative and qualitative evaluation and research methodologies, including Theory of Change, contribution analysis, outcome harvesting and population surveying.Tim’s recent evaluations have concentrated on (1) assessing the impact of London’s flagship prevention funding scheme, the Shared Endeavour Fund, which was featured in an EU–UN compendium of evaluation best practice; and (2) investigating the value derived by mayors and local governments through their engagement with the Strong Cities Network, a global network of cities aimed at addressing hate, extremism and polarisation. He has also designed and delivered training courses on monitoring, evaluation and research methods for practitioners, governments and other stakeholders.
