Leading a Civil / Structural group within a multi-discipline engineering design team to support UGL Resources construction for fuels terminals throughout Australia for clients including ATOM, the Defence Department, BHPB and Puma. Developing a new civil / structural engineering and design team to handle the variety projects needing a safe, quick and economical solution delivery. Also providing construction support for direct labour and supervising contractors. Client liaising is critical for such varied and widespread projects which are generally initiated by national management but require approval of local stakeholders to be successful. Typical projects include:• Equipment upgrades; requiring new or refurbished structures, pipe racks and foundations• Secondary containment compliance; provision new or modified bund walls, earthen or concrete, often leading to a complete terminal for bund lining and all piping.• Fire compliance upgrade, new water tanks, new ring mains, equipment housing structures and fire truck hardstands • Revised access, new pavement for B-Doubles or Triples, revised stormwater drainage.• Supporting operations maintenance at terminal sitesFor each project, cost estimates for submitting project bids and proposals are provided. Plus scheduling and progress reporting.

Senior structural documentation and site construction compliance checker for the National Animal and Plant Quarantine Centre.Principal Design Santos multidiscipline projects, including bidding, concept and FEED studies through to detail design. have included installation of additional compressors and associated pipe racks and underground services at Ballera, Queensland; expansion at the Patricia Baleen Orbost Vic.

Senior engineer as part of for the Melbourne Design team assisting FAST JV in Perth for the BHPB Port Hedland Inner Harbour Expansion. The work was to upgrade the existing port conveyor delivery system using the BHPB design guides and practices.Liaising with operations to ensure construction fits within shut down windows and coordinating engineering with the other discipline.Analysing complex structures and reviewing designs by other engineers.Leading the Structural team of engineers and designers for the underground development for on the Cadia East Project, near Orange in NSW. A gold and copper mine facility beside the near the existing open cut mine. Managing the structural component of the underground development for the project. The work included liaising with the operations personnel and the Newcrest project management to developing the design requirements for underground facilities.Workshops, crib rooms, fuel storage, escape stairways and along with equipment supports all to be installed up to 1km below ground level.

Senior structural engineer working in a small design team on a few major projects within the Aker office, including: Reliance Industries Gas Refinery, India; Boddington Gold Mine in W.A. and Mayskoye Gold Mine in Siberia, Russia. • The Mayskoye development entailed development of a design methodology for construction of a gold processing plant to be built on permafrost and remain operational all year round. • Boddington Gold Mine in W.A. project was an expansion to the existing mine, including support for 14m diameter flotation tanks and elevated access platforms and slurry channels. The design involved liaising with the A-K Santiago Office in Chili. • Reliance Industries Gas Refinery, India, liaising with the A-K Mumbai office. The design was to Indian structural codes and included 500m long, 12mm high and 12m wide pipe racks built in steel and precast concrete.
