Tim is a highly experienced metallurgist and process engineer, with a proven track record for providing authoritative and reliable consultancy, especially in the field of pyrometallurgy. He has published extensively via patents, journals, magazines and web sites, and has significant experience of taking ideas from innovation to implementation and final commissioning, and for securing major technology development and plant supply contracts. Over the past 30 years, he has acted as technical lead on major projects across a wide spectrum of metals and materials industries, including precious metals, ferroalloys, steel, resource recovery, urban mining, hazardous and nuclear waste, renewable energy, titanium, aerospace alloys, silica glass, and advanced materials.

Tim's work at Tetronics covered everything from metallurgical consulting, authoring feasibility and design studies, writing research reports, the delivery of R&D and capital supply projects and in the technical support to Tetronics’ Sales and Marketing activities. He has been a crucial part of the development of new products and technologies within Tetronics, the winning of major contracts, and in the specification, design, manufacture, commissioning and support of most of Tetronics’ projects during his period of employment. This work includes the recovery of precious metals from e-waste, ores and catalysts, heating of steel, titanium welding, recovery of valuable base metals from metallurgical waste, production of nanopowders, melting of silica glass, vitrification of nuclear waste, and the treatment of hazardous wastes. This work has also taken him to many countries around the world, including Japan, South Korea, Germany, Belgium, Italy, Spain, Hungary, France, Saudi Arabia, Canada and USA.
