Vital Proteins was looking for an entrepreneurial, passionate, and customer-obsessed Engineering Director to join their E-Commerce team. They hired me to help optimize our website, improve marketing efficiency, and ultimately scale growth. The Vital engineering team is growing fast, and we need to maintain our velocity as we scale. This means designing lightweight processes, aligning our efforts across functions, and removing obstacles to productivity. As Director, my role is to creatively solve problems to support their team as well as advise on architecture and systems design.

At Legends Global Merchandise, the Vice President of IT & E-commerce is responsible for the infrastructure and technology platforms utilized by the division's business, warehouse, and retail functions. This includes ERP, distribution center, point-of-sale, e-commerce channel, reporting, network infrastructure, data center, application development, cloud services, and help desk support.

Directs the development, implementation, and use of technology throughout the company, working closely with all departments to meet their current and future needs. Leads the IT Dept to support the company's operations by maintaining the systems infrastructure, managing the help desk, and overseeing the development of software solutions to meet the company's strategic and growth plans.

Joined Hat World to finish the system integration project for the LIDS acquisition. Once project launched, I was promoted to a management position and played an integral role in leading the company’s IT and E-commerce initiatives. These management duties included:* Oversight of IT Department Organization which included Application Development, Network Ops, Help Desk, and Facilities teams (2011 Staff: ~70).* Institution of IT Processes & Procedures regarding Project Management, Software Development Life Cycle, Change Management & Control Board, and Sarbanes-Oxley & PCI Compliance.* Key liaison between IT and corporate functional groups to identify technology solutions to their business challenges. Translator of stakeholder needs into technical action plans for the IT staff.* Supported the development of the Annual Operating Plan focusing on the IT Budget.* Projecting and Reviewing Monthly Financial P&L Statements including regular interaction with Genesco Executive Group regarding IT initiatives.* From 2008 – 2011, responsibilities included the LidsTeamSports.com E-commerce channel.* From 2004 – 2009, responsibilities included Lids.com & LidsCYO.com E-commerce channel as well as management of Customer Care Department and Corporate Embroidery Support Team [Increased sales revenue from $10M to $20M while achieving high Net Income results].* Performing System Conversions & Upgrades was a primary responsibility for the IT organization.* Acquisitions were a significant part of the LIDS Sports Group growth strategy. This led to several business integration projects across each functional area within the company.* In order to accommodate the acquisitions and overall growth of the company, many infrastructure and operational enhancements were required. IT was a significant driver of these efforts.
