This is my father's business that he, my grandfather, and my uncle started in the early 80' s. My father is now the CEO of Klosterman Associates and let me work for him throughout the years. I was one of four sales associates who answered phone calls, made phone calls, and maintained a constant flow of business within the wall protection world. Klosterman Associates sells wall protection, provides stainless steel fabrication, custom counter tops, cabinetry, and elevator renovations. I was to make calls to follow up on past orders that have been on hold or delayed for some time to process. As well as provide customers proper direction and escalating problems as necessary. I created thousands of labels with mailing addresses of nearly every hospital, university, nursing home, and public building in the united states. I folded thousands of pamphlets and handouts of what our company offers, stuffed them into envelopes, and mailed them out. Awaiting a response from any number of potential clients. This job gave me valuable sales experience, construction, design, and managerial experience from being on the sales side of the industry and working in the field. I gained field experience from my father taking me along to the job sites and project buildings in order to make connections with higher ups. I loved working here, but decided that this opportunity was not what I wanted to pursue for the rest of my life. It is and will remain the family business, so I mean no disrespect. There were too many differences between my father and I at that point in our lives that it made work difficult, so I left to pursue work and education elsewhere. I have since returned on and off throughout the years to help my dad when he needs it with installing product or taking on any computer issues that he or the other employees need help with.

This job further influenced me how to interact well with customers to provide them with excellent service. It also taught me many different tips and tricks about produce as a whole. It preened and perfected my knowledge about the products that we stocked daily, as well as our work ethic and building upon past knowledge of positive customer service techniques. The management was effective in giving orders as well as maintaining a healthy relationship with their co-workers.

Worked as a cashier for roughly five months which gave me great customer service experience, as well as handling money and mental math. I then transferred to produce and was there until I left Marc's. Working in produce allowed me to learn how to efficiently condense, rotate, and manage deliveries into the produce cooler. This gave me first hand labor experience and a steady job during high school to finance the cost of driving from age 16. The managers all loved how enthusiastic I was while helping customers, as well as maintaining a very pleasant demeanor all throughout regular work nights. I left this job for a better opportunity at Heinen's where I also worked in Produce.
