Managing a group of 9 investment professionals and responsible for all M&A activity across the group, including acquisitions (Maroc Telecom), divestments and restructuring of the 17 country opco portfolio. Attend Group Board Investment Committee on M&A/Investment matters. Current Board Director positions include iMena, a pan MENA online VC fund, and several holding companies.

Advising Middle East based group (a former Millicom partner) on the acquisition of a telecom operator. Responsible for structuring transaction, introducing operating partner and leading negotiations with existing vendors to restructure debt and to provide turnkey managed network solution. Together with local partner liaising extensively with government agencies, including negotiating directly with Minister of Telecoms and Presidential Office.Member of OFCOM's 4G Expert Advisory Panel to advise on the modality of the issuance of the upcoming 4G licenses and to provide industry perspective on the various options.

Primarily responsible for growth market and mobile sector coverage, including clients in the Middle East and Africa. Deep knowledge and understanding across the sector, especially growth markets. Senior contacts (M&A, management and Board) across the industry with history of strong working relationship. Have worked on multiple advisory mandates including for Qtel (USD3.8bn acquisition of Wataniya), Etisalat, Millicom, Orascom, C&W (GBP4bn demerger), Telenet/Liberty, as well as numerous financings.

Responsible for managing all M&A and business development across the group including acquisitions, divestitures and greenfield license applications. In particular for originating, evaluating, structuring and bidding for all new development opportunities. • Acquisition of mobile operations in DRC and Colombia, disposal in Peru • Bidding for new licenses in Afghanistan and Yemen• Negotiating partner buy outs in Tanzania, Sierra Leone, Senegal, Ghana and Paraguay• Other projects included creation of joint venture company in Iran, bids to acquire operators in Indonesia and Paraguay • Creation of group development strategy (countries and targets) in conjunction with regional CEOs, senior management and BoardDay to day interaction with all senior management with regards to M&A, business development and strategy, and presenting to the Board where required.

Worked for Malaysia’s leading mobile operator to assist with IPO preparation and execution, and other projects including the acquisition and integration of Timecel, a competitor.Key projects included• Preparing the company for IPO. In particular responsible for coordinating all elements of documentation and communications (attending Board Meetings and steering group meetings, editing of Prospectus, story positioning and writing investor presentation, attending and presenting at analyst and investor roadshow meetings)• Extensive 6 month review of strategic options for company for both organic and inorganic growth options. Project involved day to day collaboration with McKinsey. Worked on many potential acquisitions (valuation and due diligence) of operators in Asia and developed pan asian strategic alliance with other operators. Ultimately led to the acquisition of a competitor on which I also worked extensively of the post merger integration• Supported COO in preparation of post-IPO business plan and strategy. Including macro economic political and regulatory review, coordinating across group and individual business unit planning and target setting.

Responsible for marketing and managing transactions for key clients in the telecoms and media industry in Asia. Also responsible for managing and staffing the 5 person Asian cellular coverage team. Part of the 4 person team that advised the Board of Cable & Wireless HKT on its USD38.1 billion merger with PCCW, the largest ever deal in Asia. As a result of the quality of the execution, client agreed to double transaction fee. Work included:• Detailed valuation work, due diligence and production of Board papers• Developing alternative scenarios (alternative partners, spin offs, LBOs & restructuring) in combination with client working groups• Liaising with client, lawyers, accountants and regulators and co-ordinating the production of Scheme documentation• Accompanying senior HKT and PCCW management on pan-European investor deal roadshow and introduction to investors• Closing transaction and overseeing allocation of consideration to shareholders Other completed advisory projects included:• British Telecom: Advising on disposal of its shareholdings in Bharti Cellular Ltd, Bharti BT Ltd. and Bharti BT Internet Ltd. in India • European Aeronautical, Space and Defence Company (EADS): USD20 billion merger of Aerospatiale-Matra, Daimler Chrysler Aerospace and Construcciones Aeronauticas. Three months spent on-site with client M&A Director. Responsible for assisting with day to day management of transaction and due diligence process.
