My responsibilities focus on leading strategy and oversight of the environmental science and research program. I guide the environmental research team in developing and executing a comprehensive plan to help the industry achieve its 2050 environmental stewardship goals. I also establish and cultivate key environmental research partnerships and be responsible for driving attention and focus to environmental science, technology and data as means to elevate dairy’s position as a key player in a global, sustainable food system.

Washington D.C. Metro Area

• Created and led 10+ collaborative programs totaling $60M+ in science and technology R&D. • Built strategic collaborations to support the world’s largest public-private antimicrobial stewardship research consortium in agriculture, with 18 participating organizations, 6 working groups, approximately 60 representatives and 20+ projects worth $15M.• Developed the operations, strategy, partnerships and intellectual property terms for a program to reduce agricultural greenhouse gas emissions that has 10 participating organizations including Global 500 companies and national associations.• Designed and facilitated 5+ scientific workshops and 75+ meetings per year.• Reviewed, negotiated and/or approved 100+ research proposals, budgets, contracts, and agreements.• Effectively communicated mission, strategy and research to external stakeholders, including members of Congress, in written and oral form.

• Published 13 articles in high-impact scientific journals.• Developed, genotyped and characterized 4 CRISPR transgenic mouse lines.• Identified 2 amino acids primarily responsible for susceptibility to cross-species prion transmission.

• 3 first author publications; multiple platform presentations including internationally.
