As Senior Division Manager my responsibilities included market development and sales, profit & loss management and capital/asset management. Waste Management of Southwest Ohio included four collection operations and two transfer stations and collects and transports residential, commercial and industrial solid waste. Direct reports included three District Managers, seven Route Managers, Customer Service and Municipal Markers. Annual revenues of $70M, with the largest residential municipal customer base in western Ohio and Kentucky. In additional to residential collection the Southwest market includes 61 roll-off routes and 46 commercial routes.

Midwest Region

In my role as the Area Manager of E, S&H for BFI, my primary responsibility was managing the Corporation’s environmental, safety and health initiatives in a four state area. This included 21 operating locations and over 15 District level Safety Managers. This group managed all training, permitting, record keeping, and audit functions. Specific programs were developed to assist Districts in improving risk and compliance performance. Area Managers analyze activity and trends to develop initiatives to prevent accidents and injuries. Risk costs declined by more than $2M from year to year and the number of claims dropped 23%.
