Currently in my 5th year as an OFSAA Sport Coordinator for T & F, XC, Alpine skiing, & Boys' Hockey. it is both an honour and a privilege to work with the great people at OFSAA and provide the experiences for young people and their teacher-coaches through school sport.School sport is a proven method of engaging students to give them an opportunity to be successful out of the classroom, which translates into success in the classroom. It is fantastic seeing kids and teachers giving back. Working with outstanding teacher-coaches at schools who have volunteered to host an OFSAA Championship is a privilege and an honour. These people truly have students' best interests at heart! This is my 11th school year since I retired from teaching. Immensely privileged to have been able to teach for 31 1/2 years at the BEST High School in Ontario- East Northumberland Secondary School in Brighton, ON. I am proud of what I accomplished throughout my career, the influence on students, and the example of positive role modeling. Especially proud of the Track and Field program and the fact that I led a team of dedicated teacher-coaches to build this program to championship status and to parlay it into the construction of a state of the art track and field facility at the school, leaving a legacy that will hopefully last a lifetime!Teaching has given me a wealth of experiences and allowed me to make connections with people that will last a lifetime. I cherish all that the teaching profession has given me, perhaps new opportunities will come my way!In addition to those roles, I have convened local and association cross country and track and field meets since 1990. I co-convened the OFSAA track and field meet in Belleville in 2002- as well as the aforementioned OFSAA T&F in 2017.In 2015, along with my wife, we are volunteered at the Toronto Pan Am 2015 Track and field meet! This was a wonderful opportunity that we enjoyed and look forward to many other opportunities like this.
