I teach AP U.S. History, AP U.S. Government, AP Human Geography, and Global History with a particular focus on teaching skills of writing, research, debate, and argumentation. I am also the Middle School and High School Debate Coach. My students have debated in public forum, parliamentary, and extemporaneous debate styles.

I continue to work with Sunrise on a part time basis. I have developed curricula that focuses on debate for English Language Learners, and am a founding tutor for Coach Connect, which links Chinese students with debate coaches across the United States.

Sunrise International Education is a company centered in Beijing dedicated to spreading the values of extracurricular and experiential education to schools across China and beyond. We believe that academic extracurriculars can be used to impart values that are essential to the growth of good students and good people, including creative problem solving, self-expression, critical reading and writing, and analysis of world affairs.As Academic Director, I write curricula for classes, workshops, institutes, and competitions for students and teachers for our extracurricular leagues including the National High School Debate League of China, China Association for Model United Nations, China Youth Business League, and Interplay. My curricula puts a focus on student-centered activities that are adapted to an ESL environment. I have been able to implement this curriculum in workshops across the country, as well as at bi-annual debate, business, and MUN camps that I have managed or co-managed in Beijing. I have completed co-editing our first textbook, Speak Up: An Introduction to Public Forum Debate. This textbook will be released to schools for debate classes in the spring of 2016.

I work at a school that recently joined the New York Performance Standards Consortium, a group of schools that replaces the standardized Regents exams with alternative assessments for each course. In lieu of test prep, we put our focus on original research, public presentations, and portfolio work built around students' passions and curiosities. I primarily teach Global Studies, but have also taught electives in Brooklyn History, Speech and Debate, and Improvisational Theater. After school, I am also my school's debate coach.

I taught the following courses: AP Human Geography, U.S. History, and U.S. Government. For each of these classes I wrote curriculum and assessments for use by the entire department. My curriculum was inquiry based and project based, with a particular focus on research-based presentations, debates, and role plays. I was active in the extracurricular life of the school, having served as a travel coordinator for the Bronx Science debate team, one of the largest debate teams in the world. I also served as adviser to the Muslim Students Association and coach to the Bronx Science Improvisational Theater Troupe.

I worked with teachers in multiple schools in Boston to prepare debate and argumentation lessons for use in the history, English, math, science, and ESL classrooms.

I combed through primary and secondary sources for use in Larry Tye's 2012 book, Superman.
