I have been farming in partnership with my wife on both the home farm and on a contract farming basis for others.Up until September 2021 the main farming enterprises were a 200 cow dairy supplying M&S and circa 900 acres of arable along with a Countryside Stewardship Scheme, a Farmhouse B&B, a Bunkhouse for walkers and cyclists, a horse livery, a small commercial shoot and a certified campsite. The tenancy of the farm has now finished. In addition to these Farming Activities I am the Chair of The Dairy Sector Board at Red Tractor. I was the Chairman of the M&S National Milk Pool for seven years, standing doen in March 2023. I was the farmers representative working closely with the retailer we supply and Muller the processor who puts the milk into the bottle. I also served three years on the NFU National Dairy Board.
