I have responsibility for the quant platform used by all the investment teams at Man Group. The platform includes compute and storage infrastructure, Python development environment and CI tooling and data engineering.

I led a mixed disciplinary team of ~15 software developers and data engineers responsible for the design and implementation of all quantitative research/trading systems and data systems. On the managerial side I introduced an effective organisational structure and process for the team and grew to its current size. I defined the strategy for how we could meet the business’s needs and regularly reported to the Executive Board. I owned a significant annual budget for software licenses and data acquisition and all associated third party relationships. I was a member of Aspect’s Senior Management Team and played a key part in defining and implementing a transformational business plan. On the technical side I oversaw the design and implementation of all changes to the full-stack of Aspect’s quantitative and data system. From a data perspective, that meant acquisition, pre-processing/cleaning, storage and API distribution to models and users. The quantitative systems encompassed simulation/back-test framework and analytics, production ready quantitative models, intraday trading signal generation, execution algorithm modelling, high performance computing systems, Risk Systems, T+1 reporting and real-time monitoring.
