Tim founded the practice in 1999 and provided directorial design input on projects. He used to head up the London office and was responsible for integrated design. Key to Tim’s approach was adding value to clients and ensuring the smooth delivery of projects. He provided an integrated design solution and embraced, where relevant, new initiatives within the industry. His view is that engineers should specify materials wisely to reduce costs and lower embodied carbon. Tim stood down from the practice on 1st April 2021 and is now a consultant to the business.Tim brings many years of knowledge to the practice and has won numerous design awards. He is involved in teaching and research at the University of Bath and is a Senior Visiting Research Fellow in the BRE Centre for Innovative Construction Materials.An accomplished sailor, Tim has sailed across the Atlantic and spent over a year at sea. He is always looking for the next sailing adventure. On dry land he enjoys walking, badminton, skiing and a recreational (not extreme) run!
