As Facilities Supervisor, I am responsible for maintenance, life safety, environment of care and any work necessary to  efficiently and cost effectively maintain the service life of the physical structures, utilities, HVAC, mechanical, automated controls, electrical systems, fire alarm systems, plumbing systems and grounds in an operative and safe working condition for the main facility and 9 off-site locations, as well as work as needed at Prince William Medical Center and Haymarket Medical Center and their associated off-site locations. I am responsible for workflow supervision for the maintenance staff,  contractors and vendors, this includes assignment of tasks to all technical staff, prioritizing all scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, and completion of any special projects assigned. As supervisor, I act as a leader, educator, and mentor, while simultaneously assessing and evaluating personnel activities and behaviour, as well as tracking maintenance outcomes to insure they reflect departmental goals set forth by leadership. I have been responsible for up to 9 employees at one time which include unlicensed techs, licensed tradesmen, a project manager and biomedical tech. I am or have been a member of the "emergency management committee", "code compliance committee", “brand active team", "environment of care committee", and "Covid response committee".

Was responsible for directing the day-to-day operations of the maintenance department at a rehabilitation and long-term care nursing facility and promote the highest standards of operational excellence possible. I was responsible for completing/ making sure work orders and preventive maintenance on equipment was done in a timely, safe manner and anything done complies with local, state, federal standards. I conducted and supervised emergency drills and maintained required compliance documentation for the multiple audits conducted on the facility. I supervised contractors performing work in facility and made sure work was done to appropriate standards. I budgeted, planned and completed renovation projects around the facility. I attended department-head meetings and Safety Management Committees and served as the facilities Safety/ Security Officer. I actively attended the daily stand up meeting, and participated in administrative, operational, and leadership meetings, as appropriate to provide regular updates about the department. I was responsible for up to 2 unlicensed employees at one time as well as would fill in for the Housekeeping Director in their absence. My best accomplishments while there was developing and implementing the facility's emergency preparedness books and renovating all of the staff areas in the facility, while managing a highly motivated and dependable team.

Responsibilities:Took care of the corrective and preventive maintenance on campus through a work order system. Everything from HVAC, light electrical, plumbing, life safety and mechanical controls, fire alarm equipment, maintaining boilers and testing water, back flows, chillers, cooling towers, VAV boxes, carpentry, worked on TV's and the paging system. Was also trained and certified to work on the responder call bell system that was in the facility. Skills used:Attained a much greater knowledge of maintaining a healthcare facility and life safety compliance. Worked on and maintained air handler units, exhaust fans, VAV boxes, hydronic boilers, steam boilers, water testing mechanical cooling towers, chillers, pneumatic tube system, circulating pumps, snaking drains & all aspects of plumbing work. I have learned to deal with contractors and documenting all work done to present to the different inspectors that show up at the facility.

As I contractor I worked at Prince William Hospital and Haymarket medical center. We were responsible for a large number of different tasks, ranging from landscaping, snow removal, on call emergency support, maintenance and repairs on campus, janitorial duties, moving furniture and equipment, excavation work, concrete and asphalt repairs, all different tasks in carpentry field from building various items to painting and changing ceiling tiles, setting up public relation events, helping with preventive maintenance.Skills Used:I learned the ins and outs of working in a health care facility and maintaining a health care facility. Became somewhat familiar with heavy equipment. Learned a deeper knowledge in carpentry, electrical, and hvac. Learned to work with all different types of people in many different professional fields.
