In addition to my role as a Senior Consultant, I am currently the Team Leader / Manager of Hanlons dynamic Environmental Team. This role requires my involvement in strategic business planning, lead generation, implementing and enforcing Hanlons WHS, Environmental and Quality Assurance policies and procedures and staff supervision, mentoring and performance monitoring.In terms of environmental engineering/science, the role requires the management of Hanlons site contamination assessment and remediation projects and the preparation of various environmental assessments including EISs, SEEs, REFs, groundwater monitoring, noise compliance, wastewater, bushfire and hydrology studies for a variety of projects. This role also involves the preparation and provision of technical support for numerous environmental and land use planning reports including intensive agricultural industries, commercial / industrial developments and subdivisions.I have been involved in the preparation of Environmental Assessments for a 32 turbine wind farm in northern NSW, a $40 million state-of-the-art bio-digester and rendering plant at Bindaree Beef and a $30 million grain handling and logistic terminal. I have also prepared various site investigations and wastewater assessments to satisfy NSW EPA requirements.From a civil design perspective, the role encompasses the preparation of servicing strategies; bulk earth works and sanitary, stormwater and civil design for various projects including rail assets (level crossings, loops) and medium to large residential developments. As part of my responsibilities at Hanlons, I am responsible for project scoping, risks and issues identification and the preparation of detailed project charters. I am also required to undertake site specific job safety analysis and the preparation of safe work method statements to ensure all site works were undertaken in a safe and an environmentally friendly manner.

The key responsibilities of this role were the preparation of soil, water and petiole samples prior analysis, the laboratory analysis and reporting of these samples in accordance with NATA accredited procedures. This role also involved the collection of field (soil, water and geotechnical) samples, as well the completion of internal laboratory quality assurance and quality control analysis (duplicate, triplicate, spike samples and %RPD calculations) to satisfy NATA and ASPAC requirements.Day to day responsibilities included (but not limited to): • Data entry;• Field sampling;• General duties (cleaning of analytical glassware and laboratory equipment);• Sample receival;• Interact and communicate with stakeholders and other workers on-site:• Sample (Soil, Water, Petioles) preparation;• Sample analysis in accordance with various analytical procedures;• Recording of analysis results;• Perform mathematical calculations • Laboratory quality assurance and quality control reporting; and• Calibration of laboratory glassware and analytical equipment.

The key responsibility of this role was to assist surveyors with the collection survey data associated with boundary, topographical, engineering and strata surveys, marking of lot boundaries and placement of permanent survey marks. The role also included the maintenance and calibration of survey equipment and vehicles as well as ensuring the company was compliant with relevant WHS requirements.Day to day responsibilities included (but not limited to): • Assist surveyors with levelling, topographical, identification and cadastral surveys and construction / engineering set-outs;• Placement of survey permanent marks including PMs, SSMs, RMs, BMs and Boundary Pegs;• Interact and communicate with stakeholders and other workers on-site• Maintenance of survey vehicles and field equipment;• Periodic calibration of survey field equipment; • Compliance with NSW OHS legislation and maintenance of OHS equipment; and• Various general duties as required.
