I provide emergency management consulting and training to countries in Europe, Central and South America, Africa, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia. These projects include the development of Emergency Operation Centers as well as disaster preparedness, response, and recovery plans and procedures. My work supports organizations such as the U.S. Agency for International Development, the U.S. Forest Service, the World Bank, the U.S. Defense Threat Reduction Agency, the Organization of American States, and the U.S. Centers for Disease Control. I've been in the disaster response business since 1985. I spent the first 10 years as a firefighter, and then moved to a career in law enforcement, working at Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office in Colorado for 25 years. I held many positions, the last being the Director of Emergency Management. I've responded to, or managed, numerous wildfires, floods, public health emergencies, a tornado, school shootings, and other man-made and natural disasters.
