My primary responsibility was for driving growth through Economic Development, Strategic Planning and Strategic Housing.Achievements• Progressed Local Plans from Issues and Options through to Submission and Examination.• Significantly advanced development of three Sustainable Urban Extensions and large employment sites including the Food Enterprise Zone at Holbeach and Snetterton.• Worked in partnership to develop the Cambridge-Norwich Tech Corridor initiative.• Built close relationships with our Local Enterprise Partnerships (New Anglia, Greater Lincolnshire and Greater Cambridge, Greater Peterborough) to influence strategy and investment and have brought in significant funding from them and the HCA.• Working with businesses I devised skills initiatives to meet their needs and successfully implemented the Grants4Growth programme for Greater Lincolnshire.• Established and delivered first developments of Welland Homes, South Holland’s Local Housing Company providing private rented housing and taken forward Housing Revenue Account Schemes.

• Responsible for Housing, Planning, Building Control, Climate Change and the Traveller and Diversity teams, Partnerships and Community Strategy. • Part of the Corporate Management Team which led Fenland from a poor/weak Council to excellence within 5 years. • Led a successful housing transfer, overturning a previous “no” vote. • Transformed planning services moving performance into the top two quartiles, and negotiated approval of major schemes.• Represented FDC on Community Hospital review, led Joint Educational Attainment Review and in partnership a plan for new FE provision.

•Responsible for locality working, including negotiating Local Area Agreements (LAA’s), Comprehensive Area Assessment, Local Authority improvement and efficiency and development of partnership working across the public sector in the East of England. •Successful negotiation of all LAAs within time and with significantly less difficulty than other regions. Increased the team’s profile and respect with CLG •Developed and motivated the team. In the final staff survey we were the best in GO East, which was the best across the network/CLG.•Led elements of the GO East transformation and efficiency work, leading to different approaches and reductions in staffing.•Led GO East work on supporting vulnerable places during recession•As the relationship manager for Hertfordshire worked with them to achieve progress in partnership working, particularly in housing and planning.

Responsibility for managing housing and regeneration in the Ladywood Constituency. I managed 150 staff delivering services to over 12,000 properties. I delivered regeneration directly with developers/RSLs and through a variety of delivery vehicles including City Challenge and Single Regeneration Budget Boards. I supported work on the Housing Market Renewal Pathfinder. I was part of the Project Board for the new housing ICT system, including process redesign.
