• 2010 I identified an unexploited gap in the market for cost control using Gartner market data. • I developed a solution set, addressing, adapting and expanding upon existing Gartner materials developed by Research, • I was made responsible across Europe, with a remit across industry, servicing customers across Financial Services, Public Sector, Energy & Utilities, Manufacturing, Pharma and Healthcare. • Gartner Consulting support customers in identifying, codifying, sizing and delivering cost optimization across IT. • I authored the Gartner approach based on my past experience, and analysis of previous engagements. • Led a small team of 3, and rapidly expanded this to around 25 European colleagues, also working in conjunction with a US-based Vice President to establish a $20m business in 2 years from scratch, and around $10m in Europe. • I was also responsible for training subject matter experts in Europe and North America, and some delivery work for the North American federal practice.

• I was promoted to Director to lead our consulting work for central Government in UK, and with some clients in Europe. • I was fully responsible for project delivery and business development for a suite of named public sector accounts, including NHS and HMRC. • I developed and led the sourcing strategy for the NHS National Programme for IT across a number of engagements, and worked with HMRC on a multi-billion pound contract for external services during this period. • I also conducted various specialist independent reviews and produced reports, some of which were used by the National Audit Office, and Parliamentary sub-committees by my clients.• I exceeded both sales and revenue targets, and met chargeable time and margin targets for 2008 and 2009, leading into my focus on IT cost control in UK, • Working across Europe as a Subject Matter Expert, across a range of disciplines. • Worked across Gartner's business units to identify Consulting applications, and approached clients with proposed solutions. • Generated propositions, led the Gartner team and delivered impactful engagements for Gartner focus clients across UK and Europe.

• I was again promoted to focus upon strategy consulting for blue chip clients across a number of vertical industry sectors • I also developed an approach to ‘Independent Validation & Verification’ and compliance work for various national government departments, assessing Value for Money of sole and competitive vendor bids for projects under the NHS “National Programme for IT” (NPfIT) and S-Cat during this period and beyond. • I was involved full lifecycle from prospecting new clients and new accounts for Gartner Consulting through producing proposals and documents for discussion, through agreement and contracting through delivery to customer satisfaction. • I specialised in the Applications Development and Maintenance cost and process analysis areas, but was also responsible for elements of training and mentoring of client staff, as well as setting up of process and metrics programmes within key accounts.

I was hired into the Gartner Measurement benchmark team, worked on a number of key engagements in UK and also across Europe, focusing on German-speaking countries, where Gartner had lost a number of key employees during 2001.Accomplishments• Worked across Europe, and covered staff shortages across the German speaking region, and using my language skills in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and France.
