Message Systems provides an email infrastructure software that is used by some of the world’s best known cloud businesses, email service providers, telecom companies and large enterprises. Their newest offering, SparkPost, brings their world-class software to the cloud. June 2013 - May 2014: Sustaining EngineeringAs a Sustaining Engineer, I was responsible for addressing escalations for and maintaining the application side of two core products offered by Message Systems.- Maintained our web application front end capable of forming, scheduling, and sending transactional and bulk non-transactional email.- Researched and developed solutions for customer problems escalated from our customers with a small team of dedicated backend developers.- Constructed and forwarded responses back to Customers and Customer service teams. - Implemented solutions leveraging server-side PHP with client-side jQuery.May 2014 - present: Software Engineer IIAs a Software Engineer, I am working on a team to develop and maintain new features for message systems' new core products.- Used Javascript (nodeJS, angularJS, D3 and more) to solve problems in an Agile environment.- Developed and maintained a suite of RESTful APIs to interact with our core email infrastructure product using Node.js. - Developed a comprehensive web application overlaid on our user APIs.- Implemented new features in our cloud-based software offering using AWS technologies.- Maintained a suite of thorough unit and functional tests and supporting documentation for all features.- Researched solutions for new product features independently and presented them to groups within the company. - Handled software problems escalated by our customer support teams.

ECM gave me the opportunity to collaborate with a team of IT interns and the project lead to create and maintain a database of real estate management documents from the past decade. My accomplishments working both in house and remotely have included: - Utilized database management software to better organize scanned documents- Created and verified metadata for entry into the database management application- Assisted coworkers with database entry and the company’s conventions for metadata- Oversaw new interns with instruction from the intern coordinator and project lead
