About Tim N.

With over 17 years of experience in the non-profit and social change sector, I am a leader who engages workers, builds cross-industry networks, and develops leaders in the fight for economic justice and corporate accountability. I am currently the Senior Vice President of Programs, Labor at TechEquity Collaborative where I focus on the tech industry's impact on labor and work. I previously served as the Director of Worker Impact at Coworker.org, a laboratory for workers to experiment with power-building strategies and win meaningful changes in the 21st century economy.I also assisted the leadership of workers who co-lead the Coworker Solidarity Fund, a mutual aid fund that seeks to increase private social welfare for working people taking action. I am particularly interested in innovative experiments that build collective power to confront racial capitalism and challenge the ways in which technology is employed to monitor and surveil working people and erode worker power.

Grew the organization’s base, largely from scratch, and successfully executed engagement strategies that connected more than one million people with resources to improve workplaces.*Created partnerships with organizations, journalists, academics & policymakers and facilitated diverse coalitions. Trained partners in best practices for digital organizing, including assisting new organizations to identify leaders and create their own memberships.*Managed the organization’s digital infrastructure including its petition platform, email list, social media, and digital marketing.*Led media relations and designed and executed strategic communications initiatives including building and maintaining relationships with reporters; crafting media training for workers & organizations; and garnering consistent top-tier media coverage.*Conducted research projects related to public policy and workplace trends using interviews, surveys and data collection that helped establish Coworker as a thought leader.
