Lead a geographically dispersed team of specialist donor partnership advisers to define and deliver an ambitious funding strategy aligned with VSO programmatic priorities and ensuring significant year on year increases in restricted funding coming into the organisation. Responsible for overall strategic relationship with FCDO and the wider UK government., including managing delivery of VSO's key FCDO programme.

Key achievements include: • Transformed Commonwealth technical cooperation programme into effective, response and results driven facility• Overhauled results based programming and project management approach to achieve maximum impact and value for money• Designed, managed and evaluated diverse portfolio of technical cooperation projects in rule of law, health, trade, ensuring tangible, evidence based results on completion. Including: Establishment of effectively functioning Commercial Court in Lesotho; Implementation of the new Constitution in Kenya; WTO accession in Seychelles; Development of effective health workforce planning mechanism in St Lucia; Strengthened operational effectiveness of the Credit Union Sector in the Bahamas.• Mission Leader for Commonwealth Election Observation Team for the 2015 Presidential elections in Zambia.

Responsible for liaising with internal and external stakeholders across the Commonwealth to appraise, design, manage and evaluate a diverse range of technical cooperation projects in a variety of programmatic areas including: Rule of Law, Trade & SMEs, Anti-Corruption, Health, Environment.

Management of and/or technical responsibility for the identification, development and delivery of new projects. Consultancy inputs included disbursement verification of the Japanese Grant Fund to AMIS (2006 – 2008): Monitoring and evaluation of an USD 8.7 million grant to support the Darfur Peace Process.

Responsible for the establishment and management of the corporate office in Addis Ababa. Oversaw growth from a zero base to over 20 permanent and consultancy staff working on a range of projects. Key achievements included: Project Manager, Logistical Support to the African Union Mission in Sudan (2004 – 2008): Delivery and coordination of this multi-donor (UK, Dutch, Norwegian) project which provided over 500 vehicles and associated communications equipment to the peace keeping mission in Darfur. Involved: regular liaison with client and donors; managing and coordinating the UK based buying/logistics team and our in-country consultants and contractors to ensure deadline met; monitoring financial position of the project; providing reports to stakeholders tracking progress against targets. Team Leader, Local Fund Agent for Global Fund Rwanda (2006 – 2008): Led a team of five technical experts in the monitoring and evaluation of performance, and verification of documentation related to Global Fund programme grants to Rwanda for combating HIV/AIDS, TB and Malaria, totalling over USD 200 million.

Responsible for the management of Crown Agents’ regional office for Albania and Kosovo. Included the management of two Japanese funded technical cooperation programmes worth over USD 12 million, mainly used for the procurement and importation of food processing (olive oil, fruit and dairy) units which transformed the olive processing sector and generated countrywide employment opportunities. Other sectors covered railway maintenance, energy and roads construction.

Manila, PhilippinesOverall management, administration and monitoring of USD 25 million Japanese funded technical cooperation grant programmes to the Philippines. The grant was used to support the agriculture sector through procurement and bulk importation of fertilizer and animal feed. Other sectors included energy infrastructure. Tashkent, UzbekistanManagement and administration of USD 10 million Japanese funded technical cooperation grant programmes to Uzbekistan. The grant was used to procure a variety of manufacturing equipment to be used in the production of exportable products. This helped to re-orientate the former weapons industry towards civilian commercial sector.

Marketing of management training programmes. Duties included development and distribution of sales literature, advertising, and direct sales to clients. Included 4 months as Acting Country Manager, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Administration of approximately 80 projects to establish and/or improve the efficiency of national standards organisations and systems across the ASEAN region.
