Designed and built a 2000 sq. ft. house that is 100% off the grid on an island in British Columbia,Canada. The house is 20 miles from the nearest road and was built using a chainsaw and a generator. After selling Ocean Kayaks, I expanded the marine sports market by designing fishing, recreational andracing kayaks and paddleboards for other companies.Accomplishments:• Operates and designs with large in-house CNC machinery (18' x 5' x 3') using a variety oftechniques to create unique molds for specialty marine equipment.• Built an amphibious kayak/catamaran that could travel through rivers, lakes, and salt flats for aTV expedition in South America. (Lake Titicaca to the Uni salt flats at 12,000 feet).• Designs and builds fishing kayaks and paddleboards using roto molding, vacuum forming, andhigh-tech composite materials used in the aircraft industry.• Works with rapid-setting urethane foam and non-foam elastomer materials to increasestrength in structures.• Uses Epoxy resins and composite materials to build lightweight aircraft-strength products.• Managed teams of designers, engineers, CAD operators and supply-chain managers, to ensureprototype and manufacturing integrity and customer satisfaction.

I created the first sit-on-top kayak of its type for beginners and experts. This simple innovation openedthe kayak market up to the other 90% of potential paddlers because without the constraints of traditional spray skirts, if the paddlers fall off, they just climb back in.
