Current• Gigabit Passive Optical Network (GPON) – Formulate plans to provide fiber feed and bandwidth capacity to residential single-family developments and multi-unit developments, and for various business customer applications. • Aerial Fiber Overbuild (AFOB) – Working on initiatives to overbuild existing aerial copper plant with new fiber facilities for GPON services within the cities of Des Moines, Iowa and Council Bluffs, Iowa. Work included determining proper overall bandwidth capacity required. • Network Fiber Diversity – Working with National and Long-Haul teams to ensure Network Fiber Diversity required for Metro 2.0 and National Network Initiatives • Interoffice (IOF) 911 Survivability – Completed project to build new fiber-optic diversity to multiple offices in Southwest Iowa to ensure E911 Diversity, including re-routing of existing traffic• Connect America Fund (CAF2) – Developed plans for various Iowa wire centers to build Network Fiber, VDSL2-Capable equipment, and office bandwidth equipment to extend High-Speed Internet services to rural and underserved areas under the CAF2 Project. • Power Projects – Upgrade and replace existing power supplies due to damage, deterioration, inadequate capacity, etc.• Capacity and Financial Management – Formulate financial and capacity management plans to determine most cost-effective and feasible Network Plans.• Architectures – Assisted in preparing processes for various architectures, including CAF2, FTTN, AFOB• Wireless – Developing plans for the deployment of wireless broadband services in select areas
