Tim took Zetechtics’ successful problem solving approach to new markets in 2012 by creating a new company, C-Kore Systems Ltd to bring cost-saving to the subsea fault-finding and monitoring markets. C-Kore designs and manufactures innovative subsea tools to verify the health of umbilicals and other assets, which can be damaged in transit or during installation on the seabed. Traditional measurement techniques can be time consuming, expensive and provide unclear results. C-Kore replaces the need for slow manual downline measurements with small, self-contained and automated monitoring units which are much faster and more versatile than traditional solutions. Major companies including BP and Shell are already using the product.

Tim spent his early career in engineering, designing and manufacturing industrial command and control systems in a variety of industries including oil and gas working on ROV systems. With two colleagues, he spotted a market opportunity to design and manufacture control systems for subsea tooling. They set up Zetechtics in 1993 and in 1998 produced the first Jupiter control system. A key part of the design popularity is the software which can quickly be reconfigured for multiple uses and was given the Queen’s Award for Enterprise: Innovation in 2003.In recent times Tim has grown the business to 35 employees and created a spin-off company, C-Kore which monitors subsea insulation resistance – again for oil and gas.Zetechtics now designs and manufactures Jupiter subsea control systems as both standard ‘off the shelf’ and bespoke for specific tooling applications, as well as supporting and maintaining equipment in the field. A key benefit is the sensitivity and adaptability of the control systems which allow Jupiter systems to be moved and repurposed between multiple tools.The adaptability of Jupiter control systems via flexible hardware and user configurable software, gives a low cost solution particularly for bespoke applications where late breaking changes can easily be accommodated without the usual costs and delays of complex control systems.Jupiter control systems have been extensively used for bespoke applications such as flowline pull-in and connection, pipeline repair, tool deployment, heavy lift module, shallow water lift line running, robotic drill system and seabed corer, mattress deployment, gasket removal, pipeline anchoring, specialist cutting/decommissioning and specialist sampling skids.With an MBA from Warwick University, Tim’s values are about client service and integrity, ensuring products are right first time.Tim is on a mission to convert the last few sceptics about the benefits of intelligent controlled intervention tools!
