I have worked for the Collier County Sheriff's Office for 30 years; I started in Golden Gate as a patrol deputy, and served as the Youth Relations deputy at Baron Collier High School from 1986 to 1988. I returned to road patrol and Golden Gate where I worked as a Corporal Shift Supervisor and a Sergeant Shift Supervisor. I tested for and became an alternate S. W. A. T. Team member in 1995 and continued to serve in that capacity until August of 2022. In 1999 I was promoted to Field Lieutenant, and continued in that function until being asked to assume the duties as the District Commander of District Four. Retired May of 2015, transferred to reserve, and continued as a S. W. A. T. Team member, transferred to a part time deputy August of 2016, work in District Two, and continued as an Alternate S. W. A. T. Team member until August of 2022; I transferred to the position of S. W. A. T. Team tech in September of 2022.Without a doubt Patrol Sergeant was the most fun and rewarding job I have had.
