ResponsibilitiesManaging the Marketing Team.My primary responsibility related to the coordination of a prestigious special event, this was a first for the college and involved liaising with representatives of government agencies (Find a Future and WorldSkills) to host a high profile skills competition. In total eighteen competitions took place across two campus sites. It was my role to coordinate the event from a college perspective. The successful competitors were then selected to represent the UK at the WorldSkills Finals held in Brazil in August 2015.The marketing team received excellent endorsements for their involvement and contribution to this event.

My expertise also includes an extensive knowledge of event management and business development. Special events I've been involved in include; international sports competitions / pop concerts / a film premiere / award ceremonies / open days / graduations; I have also been involved in large educational events projects that took at the NEC, ExCel and various venues across the East Midlands. Events I’ve been involved in have included liaising with the prime minister’s office, the royal household and security services. I was also responsible for securing sponsorship for a number of events, and acting as an ‘event broker’ on behalf of organisations and local authorities.During the last 17 years I have focused my expertise in the further education sector, working successfully in an ever changing, challenging but rewarding environment. My approach to projects is methodical and well thought through. I am very approachable and easy to work with and can be relied upon to deliver projects on time and on budget.My previous roles have included being the Marketing & Communications Manager for a college of further education that has campus sites in Leicestershire and Nottinghamshire. My role included liaising with representatives from a wide range of companies, external agencies and organisations; as a consequence my contact network was extensive. I represented the College in a consortium of colleges that have formed an alliance and become a premier sponsor of the ‘Skills Show’. This is an annual event that takes place at the NEC, promoting vocational training on a national stage. This collaboration is now in its forth year.I was also the main point of contact for the media, working with TV, radio, and the press.
