Transformed two spun-off manufacturing facilities into a stand-alone business with robust IT, finance, treasury, and global trade compliance functions, and corporate policies, procedures, and governance.

Hired to collaboratively define and implement IP strategy and monetize the portfolio through product sales at a billion-dollar manufacturer of graphite electrodes and petroleum coke. Managed team and led commercial and technology transactions ($1B+/year) plus IP (technologies included IoT, consumer electronics, solar, sustainable raw materials, and advanced composites). Negotiated numerous sales agreements with Fortune 200 companies and other entities (Amazon, Apple, Samsung, Microsoft, Sony to name a few) amounting to $500M+ revenue. Led M&A due diligence and integration on IP matters.Representative accomplishments: Enabled three-fold business segment growth over six years; deployed IP strategy during cell phone boom, resulting in company’s patented product becoming the industry-preferred cooling solution. Won patent litigation that led to multimillion-dollar annual revenue and preservation of company’s position as sole-source supplier for iPhone 3G. Yielded $5M+ revenue in first year and $10M+ in subsequent years. Spurred overall market growth through both direct sales ($100M+) and royalty revenue (up to $50M).

Held full accountability for IP for $2.5B+ worth of business. Implemented corporate IP best practices, rationalized patent portfolio, and filed new applications. Approved advertising and marketing content for subsidiaries.Representative accomplishments: Enabled 20%+ increase in annual royalty income from the Brazilian subsidiary by negotiating technology transfer license renewal that included an uncommon increase in royalty rate and number of products. Developed and executed IP strategy that prevented a large competitor from entering the synthetic rubber nanoparticles marketplace. Also prevented a patent troll from receiving compensation, saving $100K+.
