Tim Ranney, MA, LPC, is a Behavioral Health and EAP Consultant for Anthem inc and a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor who has been working in the mental health/healthcare field for over a decade. In addition to being trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy, his clinical experience includes working with adolescents, adults and families struggling with self-harm, suicidal thoughts, trauma, and relationship issues. While at Jefferson Center for Mental Health, he held the title of Family therapist working with a wide range of populations and diagnoses. After being trained in DBT, he was accepted into the DBT Team where he revamped a struggling adolescent program. He began to manage the adolescent DBT program, trained and supervised other clinicians to support the program. He was then tasked to help to develop an online support program for those clients participating in the DBT program. This required collaboration with web developers, managers, and executives. He was designated as one of the lead clinicians on the Family services team. He also supervised Master Level clinicians during their internships, providing instruction, direction, support and career growth. Currently, Tim is working for Anthem inc in their behavioral health department. In a short period, while at Anthem, he was accepted into a leadership program. He has developed a training program for new hires, put in charge of different accounts to make sure their employees are supported, and help develop a Motivational Interview training program for Continuing Education credits for Anthem employees. He provides monitoring of employees who are currently on suspension from their companies due to policy violation. Tim believes in empowering individuals to live a balanced life through mindfulness, introspection and action, by helping them connect to their own personal values.Tim holds his Masters of Arts in Counseling Psychology from the University of Denver in Denver, CO, and his undergraduate degree in Psychology from Northwestern College in Orange City, IA.
