My role supported the operations, developments, sales & marketing and finance divisions of FKP Retirements and reported to the Executive General Manager. From August 2001 to May 2002 I undertook an 11 month contract with listed US TelecommunicationsCompany Global Crossing Limited, as a business planning analyst for their European Operations. I wasallocated various tasks as part of the preparation and monitoring of the 2002 budget and other forecasts.Primary tasks included:- preparation of detailed excel models and analysis templates- automated population of templates with data obtained through communication with Europeancountry leaders- review of trends in budgeted numbers supplied by European country leaders and questioning ofirregularities- uploading of budget data into the management reporting system (Hyperion Essbase)- downloading of actual data from the management reporting system- assistance in review of trends in actual monthly performance against budget data and prior yearactual dataIn February 2003 Global Crossing filed for Chapter 11 in the US. I was given the responsibility of preparing weekly detailed cash flow forecasts and other weekly management accounts for submission to the courts in the US to establish compliance with cash level requirements. Forecasts involved detailedcommunication with European country finance personnel and tracking of large transactions with resultsreported weekly via conference call to the CFO in New York.
