I set Stonechester up in 1998 as a real estate development, investment and consultancy business. As a consultant I advised Qatar Islamic Bank from 1998 to 2011 on development issues. This included its purchase of a substantial property in Pall Mall, sitting on the Steering Committee of the Shard and considering mezzanine finance opportunities on residential development schemes in Knightsbridge. The development arm of Stonechester has been involved in joint venture schemes in the South West of England ranging from harbour side residential to social housing. Stonechester Investments is a joint investment vehicle with my brother. Its first purchase was a share in the Alverton Hotel in Truro. Five years on, and with £1.6m investment in additional rooms, and existing room upgrades and the hotel has now gained AA star silver status and receives regular awards. Further investment with my brother was into a joint venture property company owning a derelict 9,000 sq ft office building in Truro. Following demolition, planning consent was obtained for 16 apartments and the scheme was successfully sold in 2017I continue to advise Norcros on various property matters relating to its operating businesses.

Joined as management surveyor and became Managing Director at Norcros Estates Ltd in the 1992. Management and building experience from OCS gave me a foundation to work with Norcros's large real estate portfolio and be involved in management, trading development options, strategic real estate solutions and development opportunities. In 1986 I specified negotiated and applied new computer based estates management systems to meet the Groups needs. Development expertise gained through OCS saw my involvement in the fledgling Norcros Developments, in which I was subsequently appointed a director from 1887 to 1998. I had responsibility for speculative development projects, and joint ventures, ranging from retail warehousing and offices schemes through to industrial estates and specialist pre let opportunities. It was a top to toe role so would cover land acquisition, lease negotiations, construction management, sourcing and management.of funding and investment sales. The team who worked with me going on to important careers in their own, and deserved, right. Real Estate advice and support behind the companies aims and objectives was also under my control. This would include strategic advice, year end audit and business sales and acquisitions.
