The Private Secretary is the Chief of Staff for Their Royal Highnesses. I led and managed the Household and the relationships with Patronages, Regiments and Supporters, as well as leading the relationships with Her Majesty’s and other Royal Households. Responsible for TRHs' diaries and planning of all engagements and visits, both U.K. & overseas.

Jump Start was my own Interim Management & Consulting business. I undertook a range of contracts including:- 4 months leading a major bid to win a large Local Authority’s outsourced IT Services. Leading 8 full-time and 20 others in client interactions, bid development and response.- A four month assignment as the Interim Head of Local & Regional Government for a Corporate IT business. Reviewing, managing and motivating a team, with full P&L accountability.- Strategic review of a PR business, understanding their drivers and then shaping their business strategy including their pricing/charging strategy & offering options for the pace and direction of corporate growth.- Training and support to an SME Training business, assisting in the training delivery, presenting and assisting the company’s student clients to achieve their qualifications.

Responsible for >£250m turnover division of the business with P&L ownership, dramatically grew turnover and margin against tough targets.Led a major sales and business development team to great success & responsible for Client Relationship management at the most senior levels. Led C&W engagements with Trade Association’s and Government.

A Business Process Outsourcing business of c4,000 employees, providing Financial Processing, Accounting and IT services, I led and substantially grew Liberata's engagement with it's Public Sector clients.Key achievements included major new business wins and improvements to contract profitability which helped lead to my being awarded, 'Liberata [Employee] of the Year' in 2006, for making the most significant contribution to the business.Extended the breadth of contract scope and the length of contract terms with clients.Tasked to spend 4 months troubleshooting a major Local Government contract and resolved the issues for both the client and the local Liberata team.

I was brought in as a non-legal Chief Executive to modernise & market the firm and to merge them with another law firm. I ensured robust and repeatable business processes (for example to ensure correct first-time billing) & led the merger to create a top 100 law-firm.

As head of one of the three major Directorates of the agency, I was directly responsible for all inward investment strategy and programmes with a staff of 50 based in 4 continents. During my time key achievements included:The most successful period of inward investment to the region to that time (& I believe since).The substantial and successful expansion of regional, national and international representation.Collaboration with a potential competitor to great mutual benefit.

Responsible for a recruiting and managing a team of 18, I designed and developed the organisation from scratch to something latterly seen by the host body and wider regional stakeholders as indispensable. Highly successful in achieving targets set by Government, I devised and led trade missions to Asia and found creative and innovative ways to add value to local businesses.

Seconded from my business for one year to the DTI as an 'Industrial Advisor to The Secretary of State,' I worked on the second Competitiveness White Paper and on the creation of a new organisation which might help U.K. suppliers drive and derive business advantage.
