Trusted advisor to a sovereign fund, global alternative asset manager, UHNW family office and an UHNW individual – on strategy, M&A and investment transactions, regulatory matters, restructurings, valuations, and shareholder disputes. Board Director of a Cayman-domiciled global fund.

Led the start-up and grew the business to twelve lawyers and eight staff in two offices, within two years. Recruited market-leading lawyers and high-quality personnel throughout the team. Responsible for all aspects of the business. Advised regional and global financial institutions and asset managers, large corporates, and regional and global funds.

Provided leadership for the planning and launch of three offices (later four) with a team that grew to over 60 lawyers, within two years. Responsible for all aspects of the Finance Department. Advised governments, state-owned enterprises and funds, financial institutions and corporates. Played a leading role in the restructuring of Dubai Inc., and in the recapitalization of a global bank during the credit crisis.

Member of the leadership team for the planning and launch of a Dubai office that grew to over 30 lawyers, within two years, covering the Middle East, South Asia and Africa. Advised regional and global banks, regional and global funds, and large corporates.

Advised European and global banks, private equity funds and FTSE 100 corporates, primarily on financing and acquisition transactions. Seconded to Credit Suisse Financial Sponsors Coverage Group for all of 2004. Seconded to the firm’s Moscow office for November and December 2002.
