I am an MIS student currently attending RIT. I am from the Rochester Area and have lived here all my life. I have worked two jobs in life both during my time in high school. The first job I had was from late 2020 through summer of 2022. I worked as a parking lot attendant where I assisted customers in loading their vehicles after shopping while also keeping the parking lot clear of all carts and motorized carts. I learned excellent customer service skills while also honing my teamwork and communication skills with my co workers. My next job was over this previous summer where I worked at a thrift store called savers and had the job of accepting the new donations and organizing them as they came in. Through this job I was able to continue growing my customer service skills while also bettering my organization skills and team management as I was put in charge of our small team during shifts where there were no managers around. Through both of these jobs I was able to learn critical skills that allow me to continue to be successful during my time at RIT. Another thing that was a very big part of my life growing up was soccer. I played on the same soccer team with the same people and the same coach for almost 10 years. Through this team I learned the importance of hard work and commitment to something. Being a part of this team also really helped me to make friends that I am currently still friends with today and I even live with one of them while attending RIT. I am eager to learn more and connect with new people who will be able to help me gain more opportunities in the MIS field or other similar fields and advance my career.
