Beginning in 2015, I worked in the VRF (Variable Refrigerant Flow) field for 5 years as technical support and customer service. During this time I provided remote and on-site technical support to contractors. I conducted classes covering install and trouble-shooting, typically 20 to 24 per year. These involved power point and hands-on training. I have built hands-on training stations and developed "cheat-sheets" for ease of installation. I am proud of the fact that I have never left a trouble-shooting issue unresolved. Before my time in VRF I worked with HVAC Building Automation System design, install, start-up and trouble-shooting. During this time I also conducted classes for a company in-house "university" to help increase our service and install staff proficiency. I also created a data base of controls information for service techs to be able to find information on install and trouble-shooting and be able to have access to on flash drives they could keep.I originally served as a service tech on commercial HVAC equipment and enjoyed those years. I enjoy being able to be hands-on and work in the field instead of just sitting in an office. I strive to be solution oriented and success driven. So far we have built a fantastic training facility and it continues to grow. It's amazing what you can salvage from old replaced systems and discover with a Dremel Tool. Our training room is completely set up for hands-on classes and includes an oil furnace, gas furnace, and a heat pump set of trainers built to help techs learn the basics and be able to learn trouble-shooting in a controlled environment. We also have set up our TEAMS network with any and all files our techs desire to aid in reference material to help them achieve their goals in the field.I now work for STR Mechanical, a First Call Company, supporting all staff in technical needs and training.
