Deliver Seat Track and Seat Structures programs in line with customer requirements, quality standards and budgetary constraintsSeat Track product involves precision manufactured components such as telescopic linear bearing slides, height adjust mechanisms (ratchet and gears) and recliner mechanisms (locking pawls) as well as electro-mechanical devices such as electric motor actuators, user interface switch packs to drive electric motors and electronic modules to control “memory” positionsSeat Structure products involve pressed and tubular steel components welded together to form the underlying structure of front and rear seats to provide occupant support as well as crash integrity performance (seatbelts attached) to customer and government requirementsResponsible for full product design life-cycle including concept-design, detail-design, launch phase and ongoing production supportManage product portfolio and strategy to fit with the global marketplaceProvide leadership and management to the engineering team of nine direct professional staff Manage all performance, training and development requirements of the engineering resourceMonitor resource requirements and manage recruitment of role vacancies including defining position descriptions, interviewing candidates and induction and training of new employees

Manage key Engineering Support Service groups including CAE, Testing, & StylingProvide leadership and management to the engineering team of eight direct professional staff and a further seven indirect technical staffManage all performance, training and development requirements of the engineering and technical resourceManage a safe work environment including occupational health & safety requirements of workshop and laboratory environmentsMonitor resource requirements and manage recruitment of role vacancies including defining position descriptions, interviewing candidates and induction and training of new employeesMaintain a comprehensive understanding of automotive legal design requirementsSignoff CAE reports

Deliver engineering solutions to identified technical issues in line with customer requirements, quality standards and budgetary constraintsManage engineering change process including CAD, 2D drawings and BOM updatesFacilitate positive and professional customer relationshipsManage supplier relationships and incoming product quality

Management of eight technical staff (Fitter & Turner / Instrumentation Technician backgrounds)Management of laboratory including calibration and work request systemsInterpretation of technical test specificationsDesigning and commissioning pneumatic & electromechanical (PLC) controlled test machines as well as test instrumentation using load cells, strain gauges, displacement transducers and accelerometersSignoff test reports
