About Tim Stanley
Upon graduation from the University of Oklahoma I was commissioned in the US Navy and completed the Nuclear Power Training Program and was Assigned to the USS Enterprise. Following 6 years on active duty I then worked building commercial nuclear powered electric generating plants as a Registered Professional Engr until 1979. I later retired from the Naval Reserve after a total of almost 35 years as a Captain.For the remainder of my working life I practiced intellectual property law as Patent Attorney specifically focused on patents and trademarks. I have worked both in private practice and as Chief Patent Counsel. Additionally, developed and implemented technology transfer programs at Sandia National Laboratories and Lockheed Martin’s Missiles and Fire Control business unit. As a consequence of working as a contractor to both the Departments of Energy and Defense I developed skills in negotiating the requirements of Bayh- Dole as well the defense acquisition regulations, FAR &DFAR. I presently provide consulting services on intellectual property matters to startup companies.I retired from the US Navy Reserve in 1999 as a Captain after a total of 35 years active and reserve service.
