During that time I honed my skills and became proficient in team movements, tactics, operation planning, and operation logistics. In January of 2023 I took over as Commander of the team. As the SWAT Commander I supervise 18 operators and 8 support officers. I planned our required bi-weekly training and yearly weeklong training. When the operation is complete, I held debriefs to talk about what was done right and what could have been done better. I submitted After Action Reports and Damage Reports to the administration for each operation. I was responsible for keeping inventory of all SWAT-related equipment and making sure the operators have what they need to succeed. I kept track of all operator training to make sure we do not have a lapse in any certifications, and to make sure the team is up to date with the latest methods and tactics. I assisted in the security planning for city events, especially the larger ones where SWAT is utilized as added security for VIP protection. I was responsible for compiling a list of budget items and submitting them for the yearly budget. When the new year comes, I was responsible for working with the vendors and purchasing to get the approved items ordered.
