As Corporate Site Security Manager and CTPAT Champion I am responsible for managing all physical security responsibilities for the Northlake, Texas Distribution Center. The Stanley Black & Decker (SBD) Physical Security team provides security / safety / executive operations / investigative related oversight and guidance to SBD business units. I report to the Regional Security Director and work with various site employees, Asset Protection professionals, local law enforcement and outside consultants as needed. My primary objective is to supervise the site security team, safeguard the facilities, grounds, and executive employees and be a first responder in a crisis/emergency. As the CTPAT Champion at the facility I am responsible for strengthening the minimum-security criteria through Corporate Security, Transportation Security, and People and Physical Security. I do so by promoting supply chain security in our culture and our core business processes.

I was responsible for reviewing, approving, and processing all reports created by the unit as well as reviewing and assigning all at-large reports that are created by patrol. I reviewed and approved all narcotics operations to include, knock and talks, buy walks, buy busts, controlled buys, suspect surveillance, and suspect tracking. I was involved in every operation to assure the safety of everyone involved and to make sure we follow policy and procedures. I was responsible for keeping track of the impressed funds and completing quarterly audits. I maintained a list of equipment that is utilized by the unit and complete quarterly inventories and maintenance checks. It was my responsibility to create a list of budget items for the unit and submit them for the end of year budget when requested. I maintained and approved time sheets as well as approved time off requests. I built working relationships with our neighboring agencies as well as DPS, HSI and DEA.

I began my SWAT career as an operator where I served on the breaching team. I transitioned to the Breaching Team Leader and eventually Entry Team Leader. During that time I honed my skills and became proficient in team movements, tactics, operation planning, and operation logistics. In January of 2023 I took over as Commander of the team. As the SWAT Commander I supervise 18 operators and 8 support officers. I planned our required bi-weekly training and yearly weeklong training. I was responsible for reviewing and approving all SWAT Operations and holding briefings for the team, and all those involved. When the operation is complete, I held debriefs to talk about what was done right and what could have been done better. I submitted After Action Reports and Damage Reports to the administration for each operation. I was responsible for keeping inventory of all SWAT-related equipment and making sure the operators have what they need to succeed. I kept track of all operator training to make sure we do not have a lapse in any certifications, and to make sure the team is up to date with the latest methods and tactics. I assisted in the security planning for city events, especially the larger ones where SWAT is utilized as added security for VIP protection. I was responsible for compiling a list of budget items and submitting them for the yearly budget. When the new year comes, I was responsible for working with the vendors and purchasing to get the approved items ordered.

I held weekly meetings and worked with the dispatch center to help workflow run as smooth as possible.
